| Subject: Aaron update 23 Date: Friday, December 27, 2002 1:03 PM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Aaron’s up to 9cc of breast milk every 2 hours now. This will continue to be increased by 1cc every 12 hours, until he’s at “full feeds,” which will apparently be 12cc every 2 hours. Throttle up! He had a little asthma medication blown into his lungs yesterday to help keep his lungs working well. He’ll have this treatment every 6 ours or so for awhile. We’ll have to keep an eye on his heart rate, though, to make sure it doesn’t go too high. A side effect of the medication is an increased heart rate. Especially once Aaron is on “full feeds,” we’ll be expecting him to grow at a pretty good rate. The doctors want to see him (and his lungs) grow a bit more before trying taking him off the ventilator again. Kevin |
