Subject: Aaron update 93 Date: Sunday, March 9, 2003 1:26 PM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Another piece of the puzzle: Dr. Good has not yet cleared Aaron for at-home oxygen use. This is because Aaron’s ROP is still sensitive to oxygen; too much oxygen could still make his ROP worse. If Aaron goes home on oxygen, he’ll be receiving oxygen at a fairly high, constant rate; it will not be continually monitored and raised up and down to meet his moment-by-moment needs as it is in the hospital. So, Dr. Good wants to make sure Aaron is past the critical stage of his ROP before letting us open the throttle on the oxygen. Until he does, Aaron will have to remain hospitalized. Kevin
