| Subject: Aaron update 59 Date: Sunday, February 2, 2003 11:23 AM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Another day, another 48 grams. This boy is growing! We did some more “nippling” this morning, and Aaron did just fine. Today, his gestational age is 34 weeks, and it’s in their 34th week that babies generally have the neurological development to be able to handle the suck/breathe/swallow reflex. So, Aaron enjoyed some breast feeding this morning, followed by the rest of his feeding by bottle. He’s a “good eater.” It looks like Marko will be going home tomorrow. His parents are very excited. Marko was a 24-weeker, and has been in the NICU for 135 days! James is doing fine. He’s on CPAP, and is on 10cc feeds every 2 hours. His parents seem to be relaxing a little. I took this picture this morning, as Kathleen was holding Aaron just before feeding time. Kevin |
