| Subject: Aaron update 39 Date: Monday, January 13, 2003 11:49 AM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Aaron weighed in at 1220 grams this morning (he was 1190 grams yesterday morning). He continues to grow at a very good rate. His antibiotics will all be discontinued today. Kathleen will be having her 6-week (more or less) post-partum check-up this afternoon. I’ll be staying here in SF for an extra day so I can be there at the check-up, too. It turns out that Kathleen’s doctor, Dr. Michael Katz, had co-authored a book back in 1988 entitled “Preventing Pre-term Birth, a Parents’ Guide,” which we just happened to have discovered in the “Newborn Connections” book rack a couple of weeks ago. This book would have been perfect for us at the beginning stages of this adventure, had we known about it. Anyway, Kathleen and I have read the book now, and we look forward to asking Dr. Katz lots of questions this afternoon. I’ll be heading back home tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, then probably back here to SF on Friday. Kathleen plans to stay here in SF this week. Here’s a picture of Kathleen giving Aaron “kangaroo care” on Saturday. You’ll notice that Aaron is having dinner. I think Kathleen’s expression speaks for itself. Kevin |
