Subject: Aaron update 29 Date: Friday, January 3, 2003 12:58 PM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Aaron was extubated again this morning, which means that he’s now on CPAP for the third time. His nurse said that his carbon dioxide numbers were a little high (his lungs were not getting rid of as much carbon dioxide as we’d like), but otherwise he is doing fine. His feedings continue to go well. It will be good if Aaron does well on CPAP; we’d like to keep him off the ventilator awhile so his lungs can begin to heal. Kathleen and I will be leaving in an hour or so go go back to SF. We’ll be in room #406 again, phone #415-600-XXXX. The attached picture shows Aaron trying out a pacifier last weekend. He does try to suck on things, but he didn’t seem to be too enthralled with the pacifier quite yet. Kevin
