Aaron’s feedings are up to 2cc every 2 hours now. Feedings continue to go well.

He’s been retaining fluids and solids (he’s not been peeing and pooping today as he should be), so he’s now on a diuretic to help this.

There is some early evidence, from x-rays, of “chronic lung disease,” which we understand is common for preemies who are on ventilators, as Aaron is. Chronic lung disease means that his lungs are getting tired and inflamed, and this produces scar tissue, among other things. Our hope is that the damage won’t be too severe, and that he’ll be able to grow out of this condition with time. I’ll probably call and talk to Dr. Lee (Aaron’s primary neonatologist) about this tomorrow.

Oops, I forgot to mention one other piece of good news.

They were successful today putting the “deep line” into Aaron’s arm. So, no surgery needed for this! Hooray!
