Subject: Aaron update 156 Date: Sunday, November 27 From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Aaron had his 3rd birthday today (Sunday). Can you believe it? Three years already! We weighed and measured Aaron and Robin yesterday, for the first time in several months. Aaron is 17.5 pounds and 31" tall; Robin is 18.5 pounds and 30" tall. So, Aaron's still not growing very quickly (no pun intended), but he IS still growing at his usual 1/4 pound per month. He's also slowly growing taller. One consolation in this is that Robin is growing at about the same speed. So, we've now pretty much given up worrying about Aaron's growth (or, as Kathleen suggested that I add here, maybe we should be worrying about both of them??). We're trusting that when he's ready, he'll grow. Health-wise, Aaron's doing just fine. He's eating very well (better and better all the time); he eats more than Robin does now. His throw-ups seem to have CEASED, Hallelujah! We haven't had a throw-up in over a month. He's FULL of energy, full of life, and full of personality. He can count to about 80 (and backwards from 10 to zero), he knows all his letters, and he can spell Mom, Aaron, cat, go, stop and now. He loves singing, and can sing the ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Scoop the Hay, and the Jeopardy! theme song. He does somersaults, too. His favorite toy is a little 3" die cast motorcycle that Kathleen bought for him at the drug store about two years ago for about a dollar. He won't go anywhere without it. Robin's doing fine, too. She can count to 10, and is very good with word pronunciations, including "alligator" and "armadillo". She can identify three or four colors now. She loves all kinds of animals. Her favorite toy is a colorful little stuffed bird (see attached photo of Robin with "Birdie"). Like Aaron with his motorcycle, she won't go anywhere without it. We packed away the highchairs last week; both Aaron and Robin have graduated to booster seats. It's nice having all of us together at the table now. We gave Aaron a little 2-octave, old-style plink-plink-plink piano for his birthday. He's not quite playing Rachmaninoff yet, but he's working on it... So, things are good! We wish we could have seen this birthday 3 years ago. It would have saved us so much worry! Thank you again, everyone, who has prayed for Aaron and for us. God is taking care of us! Love, Kevin, Kathleen, Aaron and Robin |
