| Subject: Aaron update 96 Date: Wednesday, March 12, 2003 1:49 PM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List Dr. Good gave the OK on the oxygen, so we’re on course for Aaron to come home a week from today (Wednesday)! This morning, Aaron’s oxygen-supplying system was changed to the type that we’ll be using at home. Aaron had been on “blended” oxygen, meaning oxygen blended with ambient air, at a fairly high flow rate. Now, he’s on 100% oxygen, but at a low flow rate (currently 1/8 liter of gaseous oxygen per minute). Kathleen said that Aaron’s blood oxygen saturation numbers have been fine on the new system, in the mid-90’s percent range. Kathleen is spending a lot of time with nurse Lisa today, learning things that we’ll need to know about taking care of Aaron when he comes home. Today is Lisa’s last day of work before she goes on vacation; she unfortunately will not be able to do Aaron’s discharge if Aaron goes home next Wednesday. Aaron’s weight was up 34 grams today, which is good. Seven days and counting! Kevin |
