I’m back in San Francisco. It’s SO good to be back together with Kathleen and Aaron again! These weeks at home alone seem to be getting tougher and tougher!

Dr. Good gave Aaron another eye exam last night, and there was “no change” in the progression of Aaron’s ROP, which is good.

Grandma Lacrosse (Kathleen’s mom), Kathleen’s aunt Elaine and brother Brian spent most of the day with us. Everyone held Aaron, and Grandma fed Aaron his 10 a.m. bottle. Grandma thoroughly enjoyed holding and feeding her first grandchild!

Grandma Quick (Kevin’s mom) sent Aaron a beautiful Valentine present: A hand-knitted sweater (knitted by Grandma) with matching hat. The four buttons down the front of the sweater spell L-O-V-E. Thank you, Mom; everyone in the NICU has been oohing and ahhing over the outfit! Aaron is wearing his Valentine outfit in the attached picture.

After our guests left to visit Chinatown this afternoon (apparently there’s a Chinese New Year parade today), Kathleen and I were able to spend some quiet time with Aaron. And, since Kathleen had Aaron all to herself last week, it was daddy’s turn to hold Aaron for awhile. And, I’m happy to say, Aaron is sleeping peacefully on daddy’s chest as I write this. Yeah, fatherhood isn’t too bad sometimes!

Kathleen’s family will be with us again tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday. Monday afternoon, Kathleen and I will be driving back to Lake County. Kathleen’s (or is it Aaron’s?) baby shower will be Monday evening.

Lots of love and Happy Valentines’ weekend,

Kevin, Kathleen, Aaron, Grandma Lacrosse, Great Aunt Elaine and Uncle Brian
