| Subject: Aaron update 49 Date: Thursday, January 23, 2003 12:14 PM From: Kevin Quick To: Aaron Update List I called and talked with Linda, Aaron’s day-shift nurse for today and tomorrow. This was the first day that Linda has taken care of Aaron. A few weeks ago, she used to take care of Marko, another baby whose isolette is located close to Aaron’s, and she used to see Aaron then. Today, she said she can’t believe how big Aaron is. She said he’s doing fine today, and weighs the same as he did yesterday, which is good. We don’t want him to be gaining too much too quickly; he had a big gain yesterday. The big news of the day is that they’re trying Aaron on nasal cannula only today; they’re going to try keeping him off of CPAP completely. We can’t predict how this is going to go. If he gets tired he’ll be put back on CPAP, but the doctor wants to see how Aaron will do. When I called, Aaron had been off of CPAP for about 3 hours, and was doing just fine. Kevin |
