I called and talked with Aaron’s nurse Bonnie today.

Our little guy continues to do very well. He is stable, and they’ve been lowering his ventilator settings, which is good. His lung treatments seem to be helping.

Aaron pulled out his breathing tube again last night. (Bonnie says he’s a strong little boy.) They reintubated him; he’s still not quite ready to be breathing on his own yet, even though he seems to think he is.

Bonnie also said that Aaron has been really awake and alert today, with wide eyes looking all around and watching her. He was doing this with Kathleen on Monday, too; it made it hard for Kathleen to leave him for these few days.

Even though he’s on a diuretic to help get rid of some extra water, he gained weight yesterday, so he’s back above the 1 kg mark, at 1025 grams.

Here’s Kathleen taking his temperature (the good temperature range is from 36.5 to 37.5 degrees Celsius; 37 degrees is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit).
